The FDR corrected statistical maps of the subcortical structures are in the oblique sagittal view, with glass brains indicating their relative positions. In the left caudate, selective expansion was located in the ventral and dorsal head of the caudate (A). In the left putamen, the hypertrophic regions were more expansive, sparing the most rostral and caudal regions (B). In contrast, the enlarged areas in the right putamen were more selective, mainly located in the rostral half of the nucleus, and smaller regions of hypertrophy in the caudal putamen (C).
