Peptidoglycan was isolated from E. coli CS704-1 harboring pLP18-Kan, pLPKC604, pLP606, pLPKC653 or pLP655. The murein composition of each sample was analyzed by HPLC as described in Experimental Procedures. The molecular percentage of each muropeptide is reported.
