(A) M-CSF-dependent BMMs were stimulated with 100 ng/ml RANKL in the presence or absence of saliPhe (10 nM, 20 nM, 40 nM, or 80 nM) or bafilomycin (0.625 nM or 1.25 nM) for 5 days for the formation of multinucleated osteoclasts. Cells were fixed and stained for TRAP activity. The number (B) and average size in areas (µm2) (C) of TRAP positive multinucleated osteoclasts (>3 nuclei) were quantified. Data representative of 3 independent experiments performed in triplicates (mean ± SEM; *P<0.05, **P<0.01 against control).
