Simulation Results for Prenatal Visits and Birth Outcomes 1

(1) Half price hosp3 (36% with no prenatal care responded ) (2) No wait in clinic4 (9% with no care responded) (3) Full-time trad care5 (21% with no care responded)

Mean birth length (cm) 48.9 49.1 49.7 49.8 49.1 49.4

Note:

1

Using 2873 observations and full model parameter estimates to simulate a subsample of women who will not receive prenatal care at baseline but they will do so after environmental variables change.

2

First visits that occurred after the 6th month of gestation are re-coded into no visits;

3

This change represents an average price drop of 3.7 pesos;

4

This represents an average drop of 6 minutes in clinic for prenatal care;

5

This represents an increase in full-time percentage of traditional care-givers from 91.4% to 100%.
