Mortal damage typically observed in 1%-2% of 5-h postfertilization (hpf) zebrafish embryos immediately after the automated dechorionation process. The damaged embryos are indicated by arrows; all other embryos in the field are normal. Whether the low-frequency damage is due to the effects of pronase digestion or motion is unknown.
