Five representative force-extension profiles of HP35 from SMD simulations at a constant stretching velocity of 0.1m s⁻¹. The simulations were stopped after 80 ns, when the extension reached 80 Å. Instead of showing pronounced unfolding force peaks, these trajectories show continuous low force plateaus and a few low force peaks (<60 pN) with variable positions. These are clear signatures for noncooperative unfolding.
