Normalized transient absorption decays for Sepia eumelanin and synthetic pheomelanin with fixed probe wavelength (810 nm). The signals were normalized for input laser intensities and pump absorbance. By varying the pump wavelength, the Sepia eumelanin signals revert from ground state depletion to excited state absorption at ∼ 745 nm while they are estimated to approach this point at ∼700 nm for pheomelanin.
