No significant correlation between the predicted affinity of the top ranked binding site (Kd-docking) and EC50s of six clinically used anesthetics were observed with either human serum albumin (HSA, panel A) or cytochrome C as shown panel B, respectively. These data along with data presented in Figure 5B demonstrate that no significant correlation between known EC50s for these commonly used anesthetics (Table 2) and the predicted affinities for the top ranked binding sites from docking in soluble proteins that has no binding with anesthetics or has no potential role in pharmacological action for general anesthetics.
