Accumulation of CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ T cells in the infection focus of vagina after HSV-2 challenge. Unimmunized and HF10-immunized mice were challenged with HSV-2 by intravaginal infection, and vagina was excised 1 or 3 days later. Frozen sections were stained with anti-CD4 (green), anti-CD8 (green), and anti-HSV-2 antibodies (red). Cell nuclei were counterstained with DRAQ5 (blue).
