Prolonged exposure to insulin increases mitochondrial content of cholesterol in liver of mice. B6 mice were treated with the long- and slow-acting insulin (glargine) for 8 wk as detailed in Materials and Methods. Liver mitochondria were immediately isolated after animals were killed.
