Selective detachment of cells adhered to regions of the substrate presenting the RGD peptide among penta(ethyene glycol) groups. A patterned coculture was prepared as described in Fig. 3 Left. Addition of soluble peptide (GRGDS, 2 mM for 1 h) resulted in the detachment of cells only from the regions of the monolayer presenting peptide conjugates, indicating the specificity of the cell-substrate interaction.
