Pink and blue colours indicate Cyclin D2 and Ngn2 localization in the radial glia, respectively. Cyclin D2 mRNA is transported to the basal endfoot during S-to-G2 phase (light pink arrow) and translated into protein. During mitosis, Cyclin D2 mRNA or protein is inherited by the basally positioned daughter cell that assumes an apical progenitor fate.
