Effects of mycelia growth media on intergeneric conjugation. The competent mycelia were resuspended in 5 mL of 2× YT after being washed with an equal volume of 10% glycerol once and 2× YT twice. 0.5 mL of mycelia suspension and 0.5 mL of approximately 10⁷ of the donor cells were thoroughly mixed and used for the intergeneric conjugation. The conjugation frequency was calculated as the number of exconjugants per input donor cell. Results were the average of three independent experiments. The error bars represent standard deviation.
