Data were derived and calculated from the CDC's Salmonella annual summary of 2006 (4). Rank indicates the frequency of isolation, with lower numbers indicating greater frequency. During this period, the 20 most frequent serotypes were represented by 299,410 isolates, or 76.6% of the total of 390,767 isolates for the period, and both groups together were represented by 321,389 isolates, or 82.2% of the total number of isolates.
