Analysis of complementation experiments with the mmp1081, mmp1082, and mmp1083 deletion strains. Western blots of total cell lysates of the deletion strains containing the respective complementation plasmids and grown in nitrogen-free medium supplemented with either l-alanine (transcription of complementation gene on) or NH₄Cl (transcription of complementation gene off) were probed with anti-FlaB2 specific antiserum. Mm900 cells (WT) and the mmp1081 strain grown in nitrogen-free medium supplemented with NH₄Cl were used as controls.
