Apoptotic bodies from MVA-infected DC are taken up by noninfected ALDC. PKH-67-labeled ALDC (green) were infected with rMVA-Ag85A (MOI = 3) as described in Materials and Methods and cultured overnight at 37°C. Unlabeled autologous ALDC were added to the culture and incubated at 37°C for 4 h. Cells were stained, and FSC^high MHCII⁺ CD11c⁺ DEC-205⁺ live single events positive for PKH-67 were FACS sorted, washed twice, mounted on a coverslip, and analyzed by confocal microscopy.
