VanU negatively regulates the four qrr genes. The transcriptional gene fusions qrr1 : : gfp, qrr2 : : gfp, qrr3 : : gfp and qrr4 : : gfp (indicated above each graph) were expressed from the chromosome and were measured during growth of the wild type and the vanU mutant.
