(A) Single focal plane in the epidermis of a tobacco (Nicotiana benthamiana) leaf imaged 48 h after infiltration with Agrobacterium tumefaciens suspension. (B) Leaf epidermis and parenchyma cells of a stably transformed Arabidopsis plant. The image shows a projection of 15 optical planes along the z-axis and an overlay of the GFP signal (green) with chlorophyll autofluorescence (red). GFP fluorescence was strongest in nuclei but also present in the cytoplasm. Nuclei are marked with arrows.
