Evaluation of hybrid ligand bioactivity. Seedlings of an Arabidopsis line containing the jasmonate-responsive LOX2p::GUS reporter gene were grown for 2 weeks hydroponically in microtiter plates (0.5× MS medium, Murashige and Skoog, 1962 containing 0.5% sucrose) and exposed to the indicated compounds in the absence (A) or presence of jasmonic acid methylester (JAMe, 100 μM) (B). Reporter activity was determined after 48 h by GUS staining (modified from Schneider et al., 2008).
