Treatment of tobacco cells with actin cytoskeleton inhibitors decreases Agrobacterium-mediated transient transformation. Tobacco BY-2 cells were treated for 1 h with the indicated chemicals (A) Cytochalasin D, (B) ML-7, (C) Nocodazole, or DMSO solvent, prior to infection by A. tumefaciens At849 at a ratio of 1000 bacteria/plant cell.
