Northern blot analyses of PBANR variants in adult female tissues. (A) PG. (B) Adult tissues. Using two probes (BommoPBANR-A: 1–1265, BommoPBANR-C: 1591–2616, PsesePBANR-A: 254–1378, PsesePBANR-C: 1586–2608, HelarPBANR-A: 242–1282 and HelarPBANR-C: 1574–2597) that recognize either the “short” PBANR variants or the “long” variants. A single 3.4–4.1 kb band corresponding to the “long” (i. e., PBANR-B and -C) transcripts is detectable only in the PG for each species.
