The Hubble Space Telescope image of the optical afterglow of GRB990123, obtained 16 days after the burst. The bright spot is the fading OT, located outside of a faint (V ≈ 25) galaxy. This host galaxy is probably a normal, star-forming galaxy at a redshift z = 1.6 (29).
