Panel B depicts the domain structure and flow of reducing equivalents in a metazoan QSOX. Reducing equivalents are transferred from the unfolded protein substrate to the CIxxCII motif in the Trx domain (1), to the CIIIxxCIV motif in the Erv domain (2), to flavin (3), and finally to molecular oxygen (4).
