Effect of LPS on FGF21 mRNA in mouse liver. Mice were injected with saline or LPS at indicated doses and animals were euthanized. Total RNA was isolated from liver tissue, cDNA was synthesized with reverse transcriptase, and quantitative real-time PCR was performed as described in Materials and Methods. A, Animals were euthanized 4 h after LPS administration and FGF21 mRNA levels were measured. B, Animals were euthanized 16 h after LPS administration and FGF21 mRNA levels were measured.
