Regulation of endogenous adenosine tone. A: the equilibrative nucleoside transporter inhibitors S-(4-nitrobenzyl)-6-thioinosine (NBTI; 5 μM) + dipyridamole (DIPY; 10 μM) reduce the amplitude of evEPSCs in BF cholinergic neurons, and this effect is blocked in the presence of DPCPX (500 nM).
