A tone CS initiates activity in auditory brainstem nuclei (ABN) that project to the medial auditory thalamus (MAT). The MAT then projects CS input to the cerebellum (CB) through the pontine nuclei (PN). The cerebellum sends excitatory feedback to the MAT (red arrow), and the amygdala (AM) sends excitatory input to the MAT through the auditory cortex (AC) (red arrows).
