One or five microliters of 32 % peroxyacetic acid were placed directly into 1 mL of a solution of 60 mg/mL acetaminophen in ethanol and ~2 × 10⁷ CFU of biological indicators. Two sets of vials were then subjected to lyophobic precipitation at 37 °C, 1,175 psi scCO₂ with sonication for 55 min while the third set was allowed to incubate at room temperature for the duration of the experiment
