S1PR1-signalling blockade displaces marginal zone B cells from the splenic marginal zone. In the spleens of control (C57BL/6) mice (A, left hand panel) and control (Cre-deficient) mice (B, left-hand panel), abundant CD1d-expressing marginal zone B cells (red) were present within the marginal zone and B cell follicles (FO). FTY720 treatment (A, right-hand panels) or B cell-restricted S1PR1-deficiency in CD19cre S1PR1flox/flox mice (B, right-hand panels) caused the displacement of marginal zone B cells into the B cell follicles.
