Taxonomy of the species studied for long-term evolutionary rates
| Kingdom | Phylum* | Order | Species |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plants | Angiosperms | Cuphea lanceolata† | |
| Ipomoea batatas† | |||
| Fungi | Yeasts | Schizosaccharomyces pombe | |

The taxonomy of plants and fungi uses the category “division” rather than phylum. Flowering plants belong to the division Anthophyta; the yeasts, to the division Ascomycota.
Cuphea lanceolata is the species sequenced for Gpdh; for Sod, the species sequenced is Ipomoea batatas.
