Each ST represents a unique allelic profile defined across the seven MLST loci, and each member of a clonal complex shares at least five alleles with another member. Data from Almeida et al. (1) are included in the last two columns of the table for comparison. The numbering of the alleles within each locus is arbitrary. It is not determined by genetic similarity.
All isolates used by Almeida et al. (1) were included in the MLST analysis. *, Subdivision of ST due to alleles at rfbD, a gene not included in the set of seven MLST genes.
