In vitro biocompatibility of AMPs. ATII primary cultures of rat AE cells were incubated for 8 h with increasing concentrations of CaLL or pegylated CaLL derivatives (A) or cecropin A and LL-3 (C). ATI-like primary cultures of rat AE cells were incubated with increasing concentrations of CaLL or pegylated CaLL (B) or cecropin A and LL-37 (D). Data shown are means ± standard errors of the means (SEM) (n ≥ 6 from three different primary cultures). AMPs were applied in full culture medium including 10% serum.
