Sequences were annotated for the presence of duplications (whole-genome shotgun sequence detection [WSSD]) in each species (black bars above line), StSat sequence (purple), and the location of segmental duplications in the human genome based on BLAST sequence similarity searches (colored bars). Patchworks of segmental duplications are mixed with tracts of StSat sequences in all the clones analyzed.
