Logit equilibrium densities for the traveler’s dilemma game with a penalty/reward parameter of R = 50 (blue line), R = 25 (yellow line), and R = 10 (red line). The logit equilibrium is capable of reproducing the most salient feature of the human data: that is, the intuitive effect of the penalty/reward parameter on average claims. Note that the logit equilibrium predictions are roughly consistent with the actual human data shown in Fig. 1 and are far superior to the Nash prediction of 80 (green bar), which is independent of R.
