Transgenic hairy roots of L. japonicus expressing empty vector p1302G (control) or ROP6 RNAi constructs (RNAi-1 and RNAi-2) were inoculated with M. loti. Two independent experiments (1 and 2) were performed. Mean numbers of nodules per root system formed 3 weeks post rhizobial inoculation with sd are shown.
