Two new primer pairs were devised for detection of srgA: srgAB-Fw1/Rv1 (5′-CGCCTTCCGTGTATGTCC/GCGAGTCACTCACCGACAG-3′) and srgAB-Fw2/Rv2 (5′-GTTGCACAGGAGTGGGAGTC/GTCCGGGTTCCATGTCAG-3′). The forward primers anneal at different positions within srgA; the reverse primers anneal at different positions within srgB.
