Following Mtb infection, IL-10−/− mice have an earlier and enhanced production of proinflammatory cytokines in the lungs as compared with WT mice. Lung tissue from Mtb-infected WT (open bars) and IL-10−/− BALB/c (closed bars) mice was isolated, homogenized and restimulated with PPD after which supernatants were removed and screened by Multiplex assay for the indicated cytokines (see also Supporting Information Table 1).
