Pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) and stroke work. Central NOS inhibition prevented changes in pulmonary vascular resistance, compared with aCSF control animals (A). Control rats had significant impairment of LV function, as demonstrated by a decrease in stroke work; in the l-NAME group myocardial function persisted throughout the HBO2 exposure (B).
