The three reef zones examined are indicated as follows: reef crest (RC, light grey), spur and groove (SG, dark grey), and fragmented spurs (FS, black). The back reef (white), located inshore of the reef crest, was not sampled in this study. The Barbados Marine Reserve is indicated by the dotted polygon.
