A and B, basket cells born in the CGE migrate through the marginal zone (MZ) or the intermediate zone (IZ) of the cerebral cortex (Manent et al. 2005; Morozov et al. 2009) to find their final positions either in the neocortex (A) or the hippocampus (B).
