Biomass of non-transgenic Z35 and the transgenic cotton lines L5 and L8 grown in the pots under normal and water-deficit conditions. Three-week-old seedlings were watered to 50 % of the maximum water-holding capacity of the pots for 8 weeks as water-deficit treatment. For the control, seedlings were watered to 75 % of this value.
