Kinetin at 0.3 μM modified the root architecture of 11-day-old hydrotropic mutants ahr1 and nhr1 in the diagonal NM→WSM test system. Roots of ahr1 and nhr1 seedlings were significantly shorter in the presence of kinetin than those left untreated. The total lateral root length of ahr1 seedlings was significantly increased by kinetin. Wt and nhr1 roots increased their number of lateral roots in the presence of kinetin. (A) Root growth.
