Oral administration of carcinine inhibits light-induced decrease of RDH12 protein in mouse retina. Mice were treated as described in Figure 6 and killed immediately after light exposure. (A) Representative immunoblot analysis of retinal protein with anti-RDH12 antibody (upper blot) and anti-actin antibody (lower blot). (B) RDH12 levels were normalized to β-actin and expressed relative to control retinas (dim controls), arbitrarily defined as 100. Averages and SEM from three mice per group are plotted.
