The lipid phosphatase activity of PTEN is required for suppression of intracellular Mycoplasma. PC3 were infected with Mycoplasma and transiently transfected with empty GFP vector (V) or GFP tagged PTEN, PTEN C124S, or PTEN G129E. Intracellular mycoplasmas were evaluated 3 days after by DAPI staining. A, a Western blot shows equal levels of expression of PTEN and its derivatives and their ability to inhibit Akt phosphorylation.
