Leukocyte recruitment in wild type (WT) and l/l mice following intratracheal K.pneumoniae infection. WT (open bars) and l/l (solid bars) mice were infected via the intratracheal route with 5 × 103 CFUs of K. pneumoniae. 4 and 24 h later, cells were recovered by bronchoalveolar lavage and the total differential leukocyte, monocytes/macrophages (Mono/Mac), and neutrophil (PMN) counts were determined as described in Materials and Methods.
