SCD-16 is the Steroyl-CoA Desaturase (Δ9) specific in converting palmitic acid to palmitoleic; SCD-18 is the Steroyl-CoA Desaturase (Δ9) specific in converting stearic acid in oleic; D5D is the Δ5 desaturase; D6D is the Δ6 desaturase. In parenthesis the gene expressing the enzyme is indicated. Data are reported as ratio between the ratio of the mutant and the one of the wild type, in parenthesis t-test results for significant changes are shown.
