A lethal dose of 8.1⁷ cfu of WT P. aeruginosa or ΔSTY or ΔSTY/ΔPopB mutant strains was instillated intratracheally in C57BL/6 mice. (n = 10 for each group, NI  =  non-infected). Mortality was monitored for 24 h. Results are representative of three independent experiments. ***P≤0.001.
