Shown are the measured WM (×’s) and cortical GM (squares$2) SNR values for three healthy volunteers and the calculated GM and CL SNR using the theoretical signal computation with a readout flip angle of 8°, matching the measured data and parameters from Tables 1 and 2. The computed signals were corrected for voxel size, matrix and bandwidth according to Eq. (5), and scaled by a factor of 22 to match the measured data. The experimental GM signal measured for a 1×1×2-mm3 voxel size may be too large due to partial volume averaging with adjacent CSF.
