The C57BL/6J and the congenic strain [B6a1.B6-(rs30880354-rs6157620)] show traits of posthypoxic recurrent apnea, whereas the B6a1 chromosomal substitution strain does not. The breathing patterns in the posthypoxic period for the A/J are similar to that of the B6a1 (data not shown).
