Arg5-ELPBC was characterized by temperature-programmed turbidimetry and DLS. The optical density at 350 nm (black line) indicated that Arg5-ELPBCs existed as soluble unimers with a Rh of <10 nm as determined by DLS (dots) up to 39 °C. At 39 °C Arg5-ELPBCs self-assembled into micelles with a Rh of approximately 20 nm that persisted up to 56 °C. Above 56 °C, Arg5-ELPBC formed micron-size aggregates.
