Growth of R. jostii RHA1 and R. opacus PD630 in W medium containing 30 g/liter of different sugars at 120 h. The cultures were first incubated in LB medium at 30°C and 200 rpm until late log phase. The cells were harvested by centrifugation, washed to remove the metabolites, and inoculated into 100 ml of W medium in a 500-ml flask. The initial A₆₀₀ was adjusted to about 0.1. Incubation was carried out at 30°C and 200 rpm.
